How to Prevent Computer Virus

· Don't reuse disks that have been USED in UNKNOWNED other computers.

· Do not open an email that contains file attachments that are commonly used to spread viruses, such as .vbs, .bat, .exe, .pif, .zip, .com,.js and .scr files. Take an extra caution when opening doc,.xls or .ppt files, make sure that your antivirus scanner is updated before opening said files.

· Do not open attachments unless you are expecting them. Also, do not execute software that is downloaded from the Internet unless it has been scanned for viruses. Simply visiting a Web site can cause infection if certain computer has no updated anti virus scanner.

· Avoid opening an e-mail attachment from someone YOU KNOW with vague subject lines and contents, such as 'Check this' or 'See these pics!!!', The sender may be unaware that it contains a virus.
