CAPTURED

Got this tag from my sweetie blogger friend Shelo of Mi Mundo del Amor, actually she's the author of this tag "CAPTURED". :)) Isn't a nice and cute tag, right. :))

Anyways, I was not able to post it right away for I had a hard time looking for a black and white pix. Until I remember that I capture my son before while practicing and exploring my new digicam that was about two years ago. My son was then 9 months old in this picture. I actually used this picture on his 1st birthday tarpaulin.

} Start Copy

Isn't he cute :))

TIPS ON GENERAL WATER SAFETY

Summer Season is here. Summer outing at the beach or at the pool or even just at home with your inflatable pool is so in. But we parents should be very careful and vigilant with our tots. Never leave them alone near a body of water. Constant supervision is what we need most in ensuring their safety in an enclosed or open water.

Here are some tips which I've read from one of a parenting magz and found it useful and helpful so I posted here in my blog to share:

1.Always check for a lifeguard on duty.

2.Warm up and do simple stretching to avoid muscle cramps while swimming.

3.If a parent needs to be away from the water even for just a few minutes, he she should assign "swim buddies" for the kids. This way, kids will have someone to holler for help at the first sign of danger.

4.Don’t let kids chew gum or eat while swimming. Anything put inside the mouth obstruct the airway.

5.Night swimming is not advisable for very young kids.

6.Take your kids for frequent bathroom breaks while swimming and teach them to never swallow the water.

7.Always have age-appropriate floatation devices for each of your kids.

8.Don’t let children swim and dive without ensuring that the depth is safe enough for your child.

9.Do not solely rely on an inflatable toy as lifesaver.

10.To prevent ear infections, dry the infant’s or child’s ears carefully after he or she has stayed in the water for more than 30 minutes.

11.If an infant is shivering or her lips are turning blue, remove the baby immediately from the water, pat dry, and keep her wrapped in a towel to avoid hypothermia.

12.After swimming, wash your children with mild soap and shampoo to remove pool chemicals or potentially harmful microorganisms from the ocean.

13.Give your child an extra layer of defense against drowning and water accidents by enrolling him or her in swimming lessons. Younger kids can also be taught survival swimming, which is especially important for families who have pools at home.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

I've got this from my email and wanted to share it here in my blog.

This is so popular in japan to drink
water immediately after waking up
every morning.Scientific tests have proven its value. For old and
serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had
been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for
the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy,
excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine
diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhoea, piles, diabetes, constipation,
all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and
throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing your teeth, drink 4 x 160ml
glasses of water

2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45
minutes
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink
anything for 2 hours

5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water
at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually
increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and
others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to
cure main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days

2. Gastric - 10 days

3. Diabetes - 30 days

4. Constipation - 10 days

5. Cancer - 180 days

6. TB - 90 days

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may
have to urinate a few times. :))

Lights Off

I was still at the CDO Divisoria when the countdown begins to turn off the lights for the Earth Hour Celebration so I decided to watch and wait for it, only seconds left for the event to officially start. When the clock hits at exactly 8:30pm streets lights where turn off, it was night cafĂ© then, so stall owners did also participate they just lit a candle so as business as usual. Some not all of the establishments turn off their lights too. Unfortunately, food chains, pharmacies and 24hrs convenient stores around divisoria premises did not partake in the event, maybe because they cater many customers that time. I feel a little bit sad and disappointed seeing some establishment not cooperating in the said event. It’s only an hour of turning the lights off it would not take too much of their time, I’m sure it could not acquire big lost in their businesses. Anyways, there’s a short program at the kiosk while waiting for one hour. The kiosk was lighted with torch and they have cultural presentations about nature and environmental songs. Unfortunately I was not able to bring with me my digicam so I used my cellphone camera and it was not a good and clear shot, though. Here’s what I’ve got:

When I arrived home my mom, sis and tot also take part in the Lights Off. Our house was in total darkness. They were seated outside our patio. And some of our neighbors participated too. It’s a nice feeling that even this is just a little deed or act we help conserve energy and save mother earth. ‘Til next year's Earth Hour Celebration. Hope next time everybody will cooperate and participate for it’s not only for our own good but it’s for the good of all. It’s for our Mother Earth.
These were taken at our house.

Conserve Energy, Save Mother Earth!!!

Every Time I've Stumbled

For every time I've stumbled,
There is a time I've shone--
For every time
I've missed things up,
There is a time I've grown.
I know my Lord in heaven
Is watching over me --
At times He sends His angels,
At times He lets me be--
For life without some trials
Would be quite plain, indeed,
And I wouldn't learn the lessons
Which He knows that I will need.
So, bravely I endeavor
To live my life with grace,
Aware of all those angels
Who are close by--

Sleepless Nights

Since I can't write down on my blog what happened last week I just jot it down in my cutie notebook what take place last friday night til yesterday, monday. And now I have the time to transcribe it here in my blog. Here's what happen:

Sleepless Night 01 (March 20, Friday)

My son has a fever and he keeps on complaining that his throat hurts. I suspect that he has tonsillitis. I’m planning to take him tomorrow morning to his pedia for a check up. I could not sleep for his so restless and he has a fever. I keep monitoring his fever. It reaches 38.9 degree Celsius. I already gave him calpol but the fever did not subside. I’m worried, I really can’t sleep. Hope his fever will subside later.

Own Itinerary (March 21 – Saturday)

We go to see his pedia today for a check up and my suspicion was right, my son has tonsillitis. His pedia gave him an antibiotic….waaaa the antibiotic is quite expensive but never mind it’s for his health anyways. After our check up we went to Jollibee to eat then we went to a pharmacy to buy his med. After buying med my son requested for a haircut I insisted at first but he keep on pleading so I gave up and granted his request. After all he had a long hair already. So we went to the barbershop. He was then so happy after the haircut. After their I thought that may son would go home he then requested to go to the “lolo manghihilot” (quack doctor) so again I granted his request. We went to “lolo manghihilot’s” house. When we were there we found out that lolo manghihilot pass away last February 14 due to heart attacked. May his soul rest in peace. Fortunately his wife followed his footsteps thus my son was handled by “lola manghihilot” this time. After there, my son again requested that we will go to the supermarket to buy fish. Again I granted his request, we went to the supermarket and bought some fish then went home. While recalling today’s event I was so amazed for my son has his own itinerary. Perhaps he plan it already while we’re still at the hospital for he really knows were to go next.

Sleepless Night 02

Tonight we rush my son at the hospital at about 11:00pm for a follow up check up. We found rashes on his feet, dotted red rashes. And he has still a high fever, it reaches 39.3 degree Celsius. I was worried and alarm because of the rashes. Usually if you have high fever and rashes occur it might be a symptoms of Dengue Fever. (hope its’ not) I just want to make sure that it’s not serious so we requested a CBC. We waited for 30 minutes for the result. After an hour of waiting the result was ready. I’m a little bit afraid, hoping that it’s not dengue. The resident physician read the CBC result. And told us that everything is normal, there’s nothing to worry about. I was relieved…thank God for it. So we went home by 12:30am. Hope everything will be fine today…I feel so stress out already…

Sleepless Night 03 (March 22, Sunday)

I still have a sleepless night for my son is so restless. And this time he keeps on complaining on his lu-as (canker sores). He won't drink milk and eat food for it's so painful. He keeps on crying and he always want to be cuddled. He wants me to carry him and his so heavy, his 40 lbs already. waaaaaaa...my back is aching but i don't have a choice. I feel so helpless for I don't know what to do. I want to ease his pain, but i dunno how. He doesn't have a med for his canker sores. He always has it, i dunno why, whats the cause. They say maybe it's lack of Vit. C but his always taking it everyday. He won't miss taking his chewable vit. C. Maybe it's hereditary. I kept on complaining that to his pedia but his pedia won't prescribe a med for it. She (his pedia) would always told me that there's no med for canker sore. :((hayyy..... Hope his canker sores will heal soon so he can sleep well at night and gain back his apetite. I'm still searching what med to give or good for canker sores and if theres a medicine for it. :((

Out of Coverage

I've been out of coverage in the blogging world for 4days. waaaa.....i was not able to blog hop, drop EC nor make standby on my fave sites and leave comment and messages on their post and message board. This is because I was absent at the office yeterday, monday for my son was sick again. :(( and I can't blog at home for i don't have a computer and an internet connection. (i'm just a poor blogger...) I can only blog here at the office. "Blogging while working" is my game. hehehe...

SkyWatch Friday # 1

My first entry in SkyWatch Friday

Check out for more SkyWatch Friday entries here :)

POWER POTATO

I've read this article from a magazine and find it informative and useful. It's about the Power Potato and here it goes:

Potato, potahto. No matter how you say it, everyone agrees that it’s both healthy and delicious. It’s rich in minerals and vitamins B and C. Plus tatoes are a good source of fiber, low sodium and recommended for those who have high blood pressure or suffer from kidney stones. Another plus is that potatoes are energizing and sufficient source of carbohydrates perfect for weight-conscious. If you can skip the sour cream and butter over your baked potato and eat the proper foods on the side, then you’ll be on your way to a leaner, healthier bod.

Mommy Moments - Cousin Bonding

mommy moments

It’s Friday once again…it’s Mommy Moments Time.
For this week’s theme is Sibling/Cousin Bonding Time.
Since my son doesn’t have a sibling yet and mostly his cousins live in Manila and in different provinces here in Mindanao thus bonding with his cousins are very seldom. He could only bond with them when we will visit in their place for a vacation or they will visit us here in CDO.
Each bonding time with his cousins were so memorable.
He really enjoyed there company so much.

Here are some pictures of my son with his cousins

Sex Determination Chart

One day Clarissa of Kizuna my friend here in blogosphere left me a message on my cbox asking me this question “tinanong ko rin si Elizabeth nito eh: pano nyo ba ginawa ang baby boy nyo” ( I also asked Elizabeth this same question, how did you make your baby boy?) So I answered Clarissa that I dunno, it just came out after my ultrasound result that I’m having a baby boy. All I care at that time was to have a healthy baby whether a girl or a boy.

Then, suddenly I remember an officemate of mine mention once about a chart on how to determine the sex of your baby. That by using or following this chart you can choose in advance whether you want to have a baby boy or girl you’ll just have to follow the chart. It’s called a Sex Determination Chart. In this chart you can see the woman’s age from 18 to 45 years old on the top line. While in the left side is the month from January to December. The months indicate when the baby is conceived. They say that this chart has been taken from a royal tomb near peking china, the original copy is kept in the institute of science of peking. The accuracy of the chart has been proven by thousands of people and believed to be 99% accurate.

Maybe this is true because when I check it out in the chart, it was exact, I conceived my baby when I was 27 years old that was April at that time and I'm due by December, the result was M -- Male, maybe that's why I do have a baby boy. I dunno, Clar just try it out. Anyways there's no harm in trying. :)) And sorry for my chart is blurry.

Surprise Visit

I was flabbergasted by an unexpected visitor. My ever dearest friend since college, Rhona, whom I haven’t seen for almost two years, for she works in other country visited me here at the office. I wasn’t expecting her. I know she’s coming home for she left me a message in my YM that’s she’s going home anytime soon. But I was shocked for her soon was sooner than I expected. We chatted for almost an hour good enough that I’m not busy or else my boss well reprimand me. We’re like sisters, we know each other very well. When she left for Dubai to work I felt so sad but at the same time happy. I was happy because she’ll go there to work and fulfill her dreams. And feel sad because I’ll gonna miss her and I have no one to talk to, to confide to anymore. Now she’s back, she’s here for a one month vacation. We’re planning to have a get together. Hopefully our plans will pursue for we all have our busy schedules. I’m excited and looking forward for our get together for it’s been a long while since we go out.

Rhona and I

hahaha..
those were the days...:))

I Pray . . .

Lord, I pray not for fame

in this world,

nor for treasures

that this world can bring.

I pray for the spirit of one tiny bird

that can fly through the tempest –

then sing.

Lord, I pray not for miraculous signs

and wonders that I may perceive.

I pray for the trust

of an innocent child

who can see your work, Lord –

and believe.

Blog Advertising A Very Useful Tool

I started blogging just to express my thoughts, my insights and ideas. It’s like my day to day journal in the net, my online diary. I know that blogging is so in nowadays that others even earn a thousand just to make a paid blog review. At first I don’t have any idea on how to register or were to go or even how to make a paid review. I don’t even have a knowledge that you can monetize your blog. Until one day a friend from the blogosphere introduce me about the idea of social networking. At first I was hesitant for I don’t have any concept of what that thing is. I’m still ignorant on blog monetizing at that time. So I did a research on it, and was lucky enough for I was introduced to advertising and blogs. And that started all.

Advertising and blogs helps a lot. You can help promote advertisers market their products and services in your blog. At the same time you can earned more traffic and get paid on promoting their products. So that's the main reason why I signed up for Paying Post and was surprised for they approved my blog at once. They make life easier both for advertisers and bloggers. Now I am inspired to make blog reviews for I can monetize it. I just have to be knowledgeable and informative so that readers and advertisers well keep on coming back on my blog.

Truly, social networking specifically blog advertising is a great tool especially to advertisers and bloggers out there. For it's the place for them to unite as one. To work hand in hand together. So to all of you bloggers enthusiast out there, why not use your talent in blogging and get paid to post . It so simple no sweat at all, just click this link to learn more about it. Be one of us.

Mommy Moments- Sleeping Time

mommy moments

It’s Friday once again – Mommy Moments Time!!!

And today’s theme is Sleeping Time

Here’s my entry

When my son’s sleeps he always has his ngingi, nganga and his fave pillow, nursing pillow with him. Ngingi is his term for his pacifier and Nganga is his term for his feeding bottle. I dunno were he get that terms though. Anyways, before he goes to sleep he keeps on smelling the nipple of his feeding bottle. Just recently he stops using his pacifier, thank God for it. We really had a hard time weaning him on his pacifier. And he has also this habit when sleeping, he puts his left or right his arm under his pillow.
